Complete Eddy Current Inspection Solution for Aircraft Components
Eddy current inspection is a required part of aviation maintenance programs, as defined by the nondestructive testing (NDT) manuals of aircraft and helicopter manufacturers and operator procedures. These inspections are performed using eddy current flaw detectors that are equipped with application-specific scanners and probes that meet the required performance characteristics and functional capabilities.
This portable eddy current testing equipment reliably detects critical surface and subsurface defects in metallic components, including fatigue cracks, stress corrosion cracking, material degradation, and cracks in fastener and bolt holes. Timely detection of these defects enables the correction of issues or replacement of components when necessary, thereby supporting the continued airworthiness of the aircraft throughout its service life.
The OKOndt GROUP offers the Aviation Testing Kit, a high-performance, configurable solution designed to support these inspection tasks. This ready-to-use NDT kit integrates a flaw detector, Eddycon C or Eddycon CL, eddy current probes, a rotary scanner, and compatible accessories optimized for efficient field operation.
The equipment complies with the internationally recognized requirements of ISO 15548-1 for eddy current testing equipment. It supports inspections conducted in accordance with NDT manuals issued by Airbus and Boeing, as well as applicable international standards. This ensures immediate readiness for both routine and special aviation inspections, eliminating the need to source components separately.

Composition of the Eddycon C or Eddyсon CL Aviation Testing Kit
The Aviation Testing Kit, based on the EDDYCON line of eddy current flaw detectors, includes the following components:
Portable eddy current testing equipment: Eddycon C or Eddycon СL. This flaw detector is used for eddy current inspections of aeronautical engineering parts, including wheel disks, wings, aircraft skin, engine blades, multilayered structures, various types of holes etc. It is designed to support inspections carried out in accordance with aviation OEM documentation, including the Nondestructive Testing Manual (NTM) for the Airbus A318/A319/A320/A321 family, the Boeing 737 Non Destructive Test Manual, and other applicable aviation OEM requirements.
Connection cables with different connector types. Designed to ensure compatibility with the selected instruments, scanners, and probes.
Rotating bolthole scanner (SVR-04 / SVR-05) — mechanical rotary eddy current probe scanner that automatically rotates the probe inside the hole; speed range 600–3,000 rpm; operating frequency 100 kHz–6 MHz; cable connector: 12-pin LEMO (SVR-04) / 16-pin LEMO (SVR-05).
Eddy Current Probes. These testing probes are selected according to the inspection task, such as surface or subsurface, fastener hole, bolt hole, or geometry-specific. The kit can be customized with various eddy current probes, including pencil surface probes with straight shafts, dynamic rotating rigid probes, rotating bolthole probes with plastic split or flexible tips, MDF-type (multi-differential) probes, and other application-specific probes used in eddy current testing. All probes are available in various tip diameters, frequencies, working lengths, and connector types.
Aluminum bolt hole calibration blocks. These standard metal blocks are used to set the sensitivity and operating parameters of eddy current flaw detectors, rotating bolthole scanners, and probes before inspecting various types of holes. They ensure the reliable inspection of both straight (drilled) and countersunk fastener holes in aircraft components.
Aluminum calibration blocks with notches on one or two sides. These blocks are used to calibrate and verify the sensitivity of flaw detectors and probes for detecting surface defects.
Standard reference specimens for subsurface defect detection. These calibration blocks contain artificial internal defects and are intended to verify the sensitivity of eddy current testing probes in detecting subsurface defects.
Optional calibration blocks are available upon customer request.
A standard set of accessories and documentation is included. The set includes a flash drive with PC-based software and English-language documentation, as well as a carrying case. The carrying case is sized to fit easily in standard luggage compartments, making the kit well suited for mobile inspections, line maintenance, and field deployment.

Build-your-own kit configuration
The Aviation Testing Kit is not a fixed or predefined configuration of inspection tools. Each kit is assembled based on the customer’s inspection scope, aircraft or helicopter type, applicable maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements. Depending on the customer’s existing equipment and requirements, the kit may be supplied with or without a portable eddy current flaw detector, a rotating bolthole scanner, or both.
