In June 2026, OKOndt GROUP specialists visited Taipei, Taiwan, to commission the electronic components (OKO-22M-UT ultrasonic modules) of the OKOSCAN UT 73HS high-speed ultrasonic rail inspection system installed on a Geismar diagnostic vehicle. The project was carried out for Hitachi and marked another successful milestone in the international cooperation between OKOndt GROUP and its global partners.
Equipment Commissioning
During the visit, OKOndt GROUP engineers completed a full scope of commissioning activities, including:
- commissioning of the OKO-22M-UT ultrasonic modules;
- adjustment of the probe wheel assemblies installed on the Geismar inspection vehicle;
- optimization of ultrasonic testing parameters to ensure stable and reliable system performance.
The installed non-destructive testing (NDT) system complies with the requirements of EN 16729-1 and is designed for in-track ultrasonic rail inspection. The supplied solution enables early detection of internal rail defects, improving inspection efficiency and contributing to enhanced railway safety.


Hitachi Personnel Training
The training program included:
- setup and calibration of the ultrasonic equipment;
- operation and maintenance of the inspection system;
- configuration of the dedicated software;
- execution of ultrasonic rail inspections;
- analysis and interpretation of inspection results using specialized software.
The hands-on training enabled the customer's engineers to gain the practical knowledge and skills required for independent operation of the system and its effective application in railway rail inspection.
